Labor Day: Offices Closed
Our offices will be closed on Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day. Processing of unemployment claims and payments will be delayed at least one day due to this State and banking holiday. Unemployment payments normally made on Tuesday will not be made until Wednesday. You may still file your weekly requests or check your account information by Internet or our phone system.
1099 Tax Form
Those receiving unemployment benefits must report the amount of payments received during the calendar year on their state and federal income tax returns. The federal Form 1099-G contains this benefit information. The Form 1099-G for 2013 is now available for viewing and printing from the Online Claims Application. The federal Form 1099-G will be sent to those who received unemployment benefits during 2012 after the middle of January 2014. Questions about your federal Form 1099-G? Email [email protected]
Federal Unemployment Benefits Program Ended 12/28/2013
By federal law, the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) Program ended Dec. 28, 2013. This includes EUC Tiers 1, 2, and 3 benefits. The last payable week of EUC benefits is the week ending Dec. 28, 2013. The last day for most individuals to timely claim the week ending Dec. 28, 2013 is Jan. 11, 2014. No EUC benefits can be paid out for any weeks ending after Dec. 28, 2013, even if there is a balance on the EUC claim. Payments for weeks of unemployment are normally made the next business day after a week is claimed.
