Harmful Airborne Contaminant Surveys
In an effort to help Missouri mine operators with compliance, the Mine and Cave Safety section of the Division of Labor Standards is now offering dust sampling and monitoring services for harmful and airborne contaminants. The main samples tested for are respirable dust, respirable silica, SiO2 and calcium oxide CaO, among others. Mine operators can call 573-52MINE1 to schedule an appointment. There will be a small fee to recover lab fee costs. Each test has a different fee, and mine operators can request the fees when they call to make an appointment.
