>>LARRY REBMAN: Hi. We’re here in Joplin at the Rebuild Joplin Right Compliance Seminar. This is the seminar that’s going to bring together federal, state and local officials, along with contractors, to discuss the important regulatory and safety issues confronting the rebuilding of Joplin following the May tornado of 2011.
>>JASON RAMSEY: This is not school. This is a compliance seminar. We want to provide you information. A lot of the information is going to be around the room. You’re gonna make contacts with different people here. Feel free to talk to them. You’re not locked in here. This is not what this is about. This is to give you information, give you the knowledge to find out information. We have a business loan assistance program that we administer, so if any of the private contractors here need, go to a bank to get a commercial loan because you need to buy new equipment, expand, you need to hire more people, come see me. I can talk to you about how we can help you save some money. Thirty percent reduction off the commercial loan interest rate.
>>REBMAN: We’re going to get money from the Federal Government. They’re gonna want to know where it goes and if we’re spending it properly, whether we’re discriminating against a certain segment of the population unfairly.
>>RHONDA KAUFFMAN: They say okay, if you come out what would OSHA look for? And that’s what we can do for you. We conduct a mock inspection.
>>MARK BANDEN: Another example of another picture from down here in Joplin, anybody spot the hazard on that one? The feet of the ladder are in the gutter. That’s what’s holding the ladder onto the second story.
>>JARED SIGLER: Today was probably more than I expected. I really wasn’t sure what I was going to get out of it today, but there was a lot of information covered, a lot of information about the regulations as far as the laws go regarding employment, complying with the employment laws and that kind of thing.
