Join Us for the 2010 Missouri Workers Memorial Day Ceremony on April 28
Every year on April 28, communities across the nation recognize workers who have been killed or injured on the job. This nationwide observance is called “Workers Memorial Day.”
Continuing this tradition, the Missouri Labor Department invites you to attend this year’s Workers Memorial Day ceremony, Remembering Workers, Promoting Safety, to pay tribute to those workers who lost their lives on the job in 2009. The ceremony begins at 3:30 p.m., on April 28 on the south lawn of the State Capitol in Jefferson City. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held inside the Capitol Rotunda.
Family members of the deceased will be in attendance, and Missouri Labor Department Director Larry Rebman will provide the opening remarks. State lawmakers from the counties in which the deceased were residing at the time of their death, will present a memento to the families, in honor of their loved one.
