Labor Department's Workplace Safety Month Events a Success

Safety Month LogoDuring Safety Awareness Month in June, the Missouri Labor Department formed partnerships with several Missouri employers in an effort to raise awareness about safety at work. The Department kicked off a safety awareness campaign by offering free workplace safety seminars to the participating Missouri employers.

“Because we are seeing an increase in stress-related job separation issues,” says Department Director Larry Rebman. “We want Missouri employers to understand the Labor Department is a resource at their disposal.”

The Labor Department’s “resource” comes in the form of the Department’s workplace stress seminar, which is provided at no cost. The seminar helps employers learn techniques and programs that they can apply on the job, and use to train their supervisors and managers. Ideally, Missouri workplaces will then incorporate stress management into their company’s safety programs in the future.

In addition to stress management, the seminars covered workplace harassment prevention, and combating negativity in the workplace. The following details the events that were hosted by the Department and the participating employers:
