Series of Bootheel-Area Public Events Launches in Sikeston
Sikeston, Mo., is the site of the first of 12 Bootheel-area free community events aimed at educating members of the public about their rights under state and federal fair housing laws. Sponsored by the Missouri Commission on Human Rights (MCHR), a Division of the Missouri Labor Department, Dine & Discuss: Fair Housing provides programming about discrimination in rentals, predatory lending, foreclosure avoidance, and more to the citizens of southeast Missouri.

Dine & Discuss: Fair Housing is one component of a year-long outreach campaign in Missouri’s Bootheel region, the Show-Me Fair Housing Awareness Project, and is made possible through an Education and Outreach Initiative grant awarded to the MCHR by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
