NoMO Bullying in Schools - Complaint Assessment

Bullying is when a person intentionally inflicts injury, discomfort, or intimidation upon another person, through physical contact, words, or in other ways. Bullying tends to happen most often in and around schools — specifically in those areas where there is little or no adult supervision (e.g., playground, hallways, cafeteria, classroom before the lesson begins). Students being bullied because of reasons protected under the Missouri Human Rights Act can file a complaint of discrimination with MCHR. Take the assessment to find out if your specific situation is considered discrimination.

You need to file a complaint if you want the MCHR to look into your situation or if you want to sue in court. Schools are places of public accommodations, making it illegal to discriminate because of an individual's race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, sex, or disability.
