Teamsters filed a petition for a group of Custodians employed by SMSU. The union sought a unit of 19 Academic Custodians. The University argued that any unit should also include the 40 Auxiliary Enterprise Custodians. Citing a concern about over fragmentation, the Board concluded that the larger unit was appropriate. The fact that the Academic Custodians worked in a separate building was insufficient to justify separate representation.
