Miscellaneous Drivers, Helpers and Public Employees’ Union, Teamsters, Local 610, v.
St. Louis County Special School District, St. Louis, Missouri
Teamsters filed a petition for certain employees of the St. Louis County Special School District. The union asked for four (4) separate units. One (1) for Transportation Mechanics, one (1) for Maintenance employees, one (1) for Food Service employees, and one (1) for Custodial employees. The sole issue is whether the four (4) units are appropriate. The Board found each unit appropriate because of the similarities in the skills and training within each unit. Furthermore, the amount of contact and interchange among the employees was not great.
