Holloway America is among Best in Workplace Safety

SPRINGFIELD, MO. – The Missouri Department of Labor’s On-Site Safety and Health Consultation Program announced Holloway America as the newest member of the state’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program.

Missouri Department of Labor nationally recognized for safety program outreach and promotion

KANSAS CITY, MO. – The Missouri On-Site Safety and Health Consultation Program was honored with a national award from OSHA for its exceptional outreach, promotion and marketing efforts at the annual Occupational Safety and Health Consultation Conference.

“This honor is well deserved by the men and women of the Missouri On-Site Safety and Health Consultation Program whose efforts help improve safety for workers around the state,” said Ryan McKenna, department director.

The Department of Labor Honors Missouri’s Fallen Workforce

JEFFERSON CITY, MO - The Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, along with members of the 97th General Assembly, honored 83 workers who lost their lives in the workplace during 2014 at the annual Missouri Workers’ Memorial Ceremony today.

“No person should have to give their life for their job,” said Ryan McKenna, Director of the Missouri Labor Department. “Today, we recognized 83 families who laid to rest a father, mother, husband, or wife. Businesses and workers need to work together to ensure no family experiences this loss.”

Missouri Construction Workers Pause for Safety Stand Down on Fall Hazards

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – The Missouri Department of Labor partnered with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to conduct a Safety Stand Down on Fall Hazards at worksites across the state.

Approximately 60 businesses and 4,000 workers participated in the Stand Down by taking 15 to 30 minutes to focus on fall prevention training on their worksites. The Safety Stand Down on Fall Hazards raised awareness about the hazards associated with falls, which are the leading cause of accidents in the construction industry.
